There is currently a strong need for action in public mobility spaces with high traffic volumes and urban-planning relevance that create a strong barrier effect and offer little quality as urban centers where people can spend time. The new solutions to be developed for mobility spaces must be strongly integrative in their approach. Local social structures, building structures, and existing and planned transportation networks all provide the framework.  <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Project Objectives<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of the flagship project, innovative solutions for transforming public mobility spaces are initiated, developed, researched, and demonstrated across Austria. The implementation of transformations is to be set in motion in seven pilot regions and beyond. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Salzburg Pilot <br\/>The commercially shaped Schallmoos neighborhood exemplifies the challenges of the mobility transition: strict separation of residential and commercial uses, many inbound commuters, long travel distances, high car dependence, and a strong prioritization of traffic space. At the same time, the area offers major potential for sustainable restructuring. In close collaboration with city planning and local stakeholders, an innovative data foundation and spatial simulations are being developed for a traffic-efficient land-use concept. Urban-design, design, and social aspects are linked to one another to plan and implement active-mobility corridors, such as bicycle and pedestrian routes, in an integrative way.   <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Background The Trans|Formator:in flagship project aims to generate and accelerate ambitious solutions for mobility spaces with a transformative character.
