Prototype: Thermally Activated Building Systems (TABS)
TABS is currently a high-profile topic. With this technology, energy can be saved while comfort in indoor spaces increases, and it can be extended to timber construction. With our broad network and expertise gained through multi-year research in TABS, we offer unique expertise in this field.
Variable renewable generation and the timing mismatch between energy generation and demand are addressed through TABS. This method, which to date has been used primarily in concrete structures, opens up the possibility of using wood-based materials as thermal energy storage.
